Overview

In shortBack a KOL or a side. Everyone who backed the winner splits the pot.

KOL Arena runs pari-mutuel markets on how crypto traders perform on Binance Wallet, fomo and pump.fun. You back a trader, or a side, and everyone who backed the winner splits the pot. Nobody sets the odds: they are each side's share of the pot.

The one rule to remember: a market measures what each trader makes while the market is running, from the moment it opens to the moment it ends. Nothing before it opens counts.

Bets are in BNB on BNB Smart Chain. Markets settle on-chain, and the contract holds every bet until it pays out or refunds.

02

Timeline

In shortOpen now, count from the next full hour, close 12 hours early, settle after the dispute window.

  1. OpensBetting starts the moment the market is listed. Each trader's opening snapshot is taken right away.
  2. Counting startsAt the first full hour (UTC) after it opens. Everything from here to the end counts.
  3. Bets close12 hours before the end, so nobody bets once the result is all but known.
  4. EndsOn a full hour (UTC). The closing snapshot is taken and the figures are final.
  5. ProposedThe winner is proposed from the snapshots. Anyone can check it during the the dispute window that follows.
  6. SettledFinal. Winners claim their share from their portfolio, whenever they like.

A market runs for 1 to 3 whole days. Each market shows when its bets close and when it ends.

03

Figures

In shortPnL in dollars, Return for pump.fun traders, and Rank on Binance's leaderboard for Climb and Top.

PnL

Profit and loss in US dollars. For fomo and pump.fun traders it counts both trades the trader closed and the change in value of what they still hold; for Binance Wallet traders, closed trades only (see below).

PnL = realized PnL during the market + (unrealized PnL at the end − unrealized PnL at the start)

  • Realized PnL is profit on positions the trader sold during the market. It is read in consecutive 24-hour blocks and added up, so every hour of the market is counted once.
  • Unrealized PnL is profit on positions still held, valued at the market price. Only its change counts: a bag bought long before the market opened adds or subtracts only what it gained or lost while the market ran.
  • Money deposited into or withdrawn from a wallet is not profit. Only trading gains and losses count.
  • Perpetuals count on fomo. Open and closed perpetual positions on Hyperliquid are part of a fomo trader's PnL, as the app shows them.

Binance Wallet traders: PnL is the realized PnL Binance Wallet records for the wallet (BNB Chain or Solana) while the market runs, day by day. Only closed trades count: a bag still held at the end adds nothing until it is sold.

fomo traders: PnL is their all-time PnL at the end minus at the start. For fomo's top 100 it is the figure the app shows; for everyone else it is rebuilt from fomo's figures: realized PnL, plus open positions, plus open perps.

Return (pump.fun traders)

Return = PnL ÷ (value held at the start + dollars bought during the market)

The capital the trader had at work. A trader who held nothing and bought nothing has no return, and a market that needs one is voided. Binance's and fomo's figures don't say what a trader bought, so return markets take pump.fun traders only.

Rank (Climb and Top)

A Binance KOL's place on Binance Wallet's leaderboard (BNB Chain + Solana, 7 days), ranked by realized PnL, as the leaderboard page shows it: #1 is the top. It is read when the market ends, and covers the 7 days up to that moment rather than the market's run. While a market runs, its page shows each KOL's place as it stands.

Why a profile page shows a different number

A profile shows other things: the whole portfolio, which moves with deposits and withdrawals, or PnL over the last 7 or 30 days counted back from right now. A market counts only its own run, and its page shows the opening and closing figures.

04

Sources

In shortEach trader is read from the one platform they're listed on, in US dollars.

Binance Wallet
Wallets on BNB Chain and Solana from Binance Wallet's leaderboard (its KOL, smart money and MPC lists), read from Binance Wallet's own daily realized PnL for the wallet. A market adds up what the wallet realized from its start to its end.
fomo
fomo's all-time PnL for the account, every wallet, perps included. For fomo's all-time top 100 it is read from the leaderboard; for everyone else it is rebuilt from fomo's figures. A market uses one method for both ends, never one at the start and the other at the end.
pump.fun
pump.fun's own portfolio figures for the account, realized and unrealized, in US dollars.
Units
Everything is compared in US dollars.

A trader with accounts on several platforms is a different entry on each: a market on a fomo account reads only fomo. Climb and Top markets are decided on Binance's leaderboard, so they take Binance Wallet traders only.

05

Snapshots

In shortTaken automatically at the open, once a day, and at the end, and stored as received.

Opening
When the market opens: each trader's starting point, shown on the market page from the first minute.
Daily
Every 24 hours on the hour, from the start, to track each figure as it goes.
Closing
At the end: the figures the result is worked out from.

Every snapshot is stored with the time it was taken and the source's answer exactly as received, so a result can be checked line by line.

A read only counts if it is taken within two hours of its time and the source says its data is current as of that time. If it can't be, see Voids.

06

Formats

In shortFive formats, plus markets the team sets up. Exact ties void.

Matchup
Two KOLs. The higher figure wins.
Climb
2 to 8 Binance KOLs. The highest place on the board when the market ends wins. Off the board ranks below everyone on it; if none are on it, the market is voided.
Top 10
One Binance KOL and a place (top 3, 5, 10, 25 or 50). Yes wins at that place or better when the market ends; off the board is No.
Prop
One KOL against a number. Over wins only strictly above the line; exactly on it goes to Under.
The Draft
Squad A against squad B, 2 to 5 KOLs each, from any platform. The higher combined PnL wins.
Team markets
Set up by the team, 2 to 16 outcomes. The question states exactly how it is decided.

Ties. If the top figures are equal to the cent (to 0.01% for return), the market can't pick a winner and is voided, every bet refunded. Places on the board never tie.

07

Settlement

In shortA winner is proposed on-chain and stays open to challenge for the dispute window.

  • After the closing snapshot, the result is worked out from the snapshots and proposed on-chain.
  • The proposal stays open for the dispute window. If it is wrong, tell us before it ends and we will check it against the snapshots.
  • A wrong proposal is rejected and a corrected one made, with a new the dispute window.
  • Once the window passes, anyone can finalize the market and winners can claim.
08

Voids

In shortA voided market refunds every bet in full, fee included.

A market is voided when:

  • A snapshot a trader's figure needs can't be taken within two hours of its time.
  • A trader's account is deleted, renamed out of reach or turns out not to exist.
  • The top figures tie to the cent, or to 0.01% for return.
  • Nobody backed the winner, so there is nobody to pay.
  • No result has been proposed 7 days after the end. Then anyone can void it on-chain, without us.
09

Payouts

In shortYour share of the winning side is your share of the whole pot. 3% fee per bet.

Your payout = your stake on the winner ÷ all stakes on the winner × the whole pot

  • A 3% fee is taken from each bet when it is placed; the rest goes into the pot. The fee is fixed per market when it opens and refunded if the market is voided.
  • The odds you see when you bet are not locked. Your payout is your share of the final pot.
  • You can back more than one outcome in the same market. Each bet is its own stake.
  • There is no minimum bet.
  • A market listed by a user that reaches its minimum volume pays its creator a share of the fee, in BNB. The rest goes to the fee splitter.
10

Listing

In shortLock a deposit, earn a share of the fee, get the deposit back once enough bets come in.

  • Listing a market locks a deposit in the token. It comes back when the market settles with at least its minimum volume of bets.
  • If the market settles below that volume, or nobody backed the winner, the deposit is burned.
  • A market with a made-up or malformed trader is voided by the team and its deposit burned, with the reason written on-chain.
  • If the team voids a market for any other reason, or nobody resolves it in time, the deposit comes back.
  • Each creator can have a limited number of unsettled markets at a time.

The deposit, the minimum volume and the creator share are fixed for each market when it is listed, and shown before you confirm.

11

Contract

In shortBets, payouts and refunds all live in one contract. You pull your payouts.

Network
BNB Smart Chain
Payouts
Pulled, never pushed: you claim winnings and refunds from your portfolio.
Settings
The team can change the fee, the deposit, the schedule and which formats are open. A change applies to markets listed afterwards: a market keeps the terms it was listed with until it settles.
